Special Constables are trained volunteers who have the same powers and uniform as regular (paid) police officers. In North Yorkshire and the City of York they play a crucial role in fighting crime and making our streets safer.
As a Special Constable you can make a direct contribution to your local community. You will help fight crime and forge stronger connections between the police and the people you serve.

Joining the Special Constabulary can be one of the most rewarding things you ever do. But perhaps you have more questions before you take the first step. If so, just ask!
